Keep in shape with Size-Wise

Keep fit at Size-WiseThe fitness studio 'Size-Wise' is being manned by fitness instructor, Samreedhi Sharma, who is also a nutrition and fitness consultant. At the studio the exercise plan is custom-designed according to body type, percentage of body fat and individual health problems. Nutritional counselling is given at the beginning of the programme and diet is constantly monitored inorder to improve eating habits.

Samreedhi Sharma, nutritionist & personal trainerThe exercises at the fitness centre are designed such that even while travelling all they would need would be a pair of dumbells so that their routine remains uninterrupted. "Popping pills or starving is not the answer to weight loss. My arguement is if weight loss pills worked wonders there would not be anyone fat or unhealthy in the world," says Samreedhi Sharma, nutritionist & personal trainer, Size-Wise. Sharma, a post graduate in nurtition and food technology is also a certified personal trainer from Leena Mogre's Fitness Academy. She has worked as a trainee research assistant at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Hindustan Lever Research Centre (HLRC).

Lifting weightsAt the fitness centre one can enrol on a monthly basis, one hour sessions once a week, daily or alternate days. "I also teach meditation, because I believe that a sound mind is necessary for a fit body," adds Sharma. She finds that many of the people coming to the gym suffer from health problems like insomnia, arthritis, post menopausal syndrome, osteoporosis, thyroidism, etc, so she is constantly in touch with doctors to be able to provide her clients with the best possible guidance and advice. At the centre Sharma believes in prescribing a more well balanced meal rather than a diet. "My clients are suprised as to how they eat so much and still are able to lose weight," says Sharma. She concludes, "Exercise should be made part of your daily routine, not only for weight loss, but with the goal to become fitter, stronger and to develop a better self image."
